May ZeinElDein: A Mother Who Changed the Lives of Hundreds of PWDs in Egypt

In 2011, May ZeinElDein’s life was shaken by a great shock . Her 18-year-old son, Alhassan, was involved in a severe accident that left him partially paralyzed. It was a painful and challenging moment, but for May, it was not the end of the road—it was the beginning of a new journey filled with challenges and determination.

Refusing to succumb to grief, May decided to transform her pain into a driving force to help her son and others facing similar circumstances. She knew that many people were struggling with the same challenges and needed support. This realization led her to establish Alhassan Foundation in 2012, in collaboration with a group of family members and friends, with the mission of supporting individuals with disabilities.

determination was stronger. May persevered tirelessly, believing that change was possible. Today, Alhassan Foundation has made a significant impact, transforming the lives of more than 10,000 wheelchair users across Egypt and giving them the opportunity to live with dignity and independence.
May ZeinElDein is not just a mother who faced adversity—she became a symbol of resilience, proving that pain can be transformed into hope and that challenges can mark the beginning of extraordinary success stories.
